University Stuff

This is basically a place where I can put all my university work. Ideas, drafts etc.

The last hurdle

So fair to say I am NOT one of those in uni doing an all nighter, thank god. But it is 1.40am and everything is almost done. Just to double check everything in the morning put it all onto a disk, burn the fill in the submission form then DONE.

Weird to think a project I have spent 6 months developing will be over in just over 10 hours. And this project primarily dictates what grade I will finish uni with.

Update

The implementation of the design has begun therefore it is not beginning to look like a nice app. For ages I have been so concerned with getting the main functions working that neglected design, which meant I never wanted to show anyone how it looks. But now oh no…I love showing it off.

It is scary how much of a difference the design can make, it has changed the whole feeling of my app. The only main function I have left to implement is the ‘search’ function, I want users to be able to type in any word and it search anything similar. For example have you have though, ‘Oh I know it has … word in it but can’t remember the full name’. Therefore the user will be able to search ‘smooth’ and it display all the products that contain the word in it’s name.

Better get back..

Production Update

So I’ve realised that I have slightly neglected this blog in a while so here is an update. The database is all set up using an SQL Lite (Base) and linked to my app thanks to my collaborator Matt Cheetham, now time to set up the fundamentals fo the app.

Work Experience

So I have just finished a 2 week placement at Superdrugs head office in Croydon working with their web development team and I have to say I absolutely loved it. Not only did I learn loads but the people there were lovely too (which lets face it always makes work much more fun).

And now to start the hardest year of my life. FINAL YEAR AT UNI!!!

So for the past 3 weeks i’ve been working at the olympics for OBS (Olympic Broadcasting Service) who are responsible for filming all the events during the olympics. My role was logistics for the Copper Box/Handball Arena.
